Advanced Example: Visitors Repeating Steps

Imagine that the two visitors from our previous example visited the Support section of your site. In this example, the visitors visited pages that are not included in the scenario. They also returned to an earlier step after completing the step.

Because the italicized URLs are not part of the scenario, the Scenario Funnel does not show them.

This view shows mostly vertical movement downward through the funnels with number of visits and percentage of visits at each step.

If you click View Step Transitions at the top of the report, an alternate view of the Scenario Funnel opens, as shown in the following graphic:

This view shows more detail about what happens before and after the funnel. For example, you can see where the visitor from abc.ister.com viewed a page outside the scenario before completing step 3 and had to come back to step 3 to continue through step 4.
