Configuring User Rights for Individual Visitor Data Mart Users

Assign rights to an individual user in the Application Settings, User Management, Users dialog.

  1. In the left pane, click Administration > Application Settings > User Management > Users.
  2. Edit a user.
  3. If the user is assigned to a role, click No Role in the Role menu.
    Note: When you click No Role, the user’s rights do not change. All of the rights associated with the user’s previous role remain active, but they can be changed under User Rights. If you update the previously assigned role, the user’s rights do not change because the user is no longer assigned to the role.
  4. Under User Rights, click Action Rights.
  5. Assign the user the appropriate rights. For a description of each user right, see the Visitor Data Mart User Rights table below.

    Description

    Event Database Freeform Queries

    Applies to Webtrends only. Specifies whether the user can run freeform SQL queries against Event Database data in your Visitor Data Mart.

    Event Database Full Named Query Access

    Specifies whether the user has access to confidential external data such as financial and user information when using Named Queries to query Event Databases in your Visitor Data Mart.

    Visitor Data Mart Configuration

    Specifies whether the user can configure global event settings, including event retention settings, Events, and custom Lookup Tables. A user must have this right to view Visitor Data Mart profile data in Webtrends Explore.

    Visitor Data Mart Profiles Specifies the user's rights to create, view, edit, and delete Visitor Data Mart profiles. Visitor Data Mart profiles specify the information needed to generate reports from your Visitor Data Mart .

    ODBC Driver

    Specifies whether the user can install and use the Webtrends ODBC Driver. The Webtrends ODBC Driver allows you to query Webtrends data, including Visitor Data Mart and Report database data. If you have this right, but not the Event Database Full Named Query Access right, use the Restricted Access Query (optional) text box for Named Queries.

    Webtrends Explore

    Specifies whether the user can access the Explore installation program from the Install Components page of Webtrends Analytics 9 Administration.

    Web Services

    Specifies whether the Analytics 9 user can access Webtrends Web Services.
