Using Compare Mode

You can compare data from the current date range to data from a date range in the past using compare mode.

When compare mode is on:
  • Insight displays the percent change in each measure between the current time period and the comparison time period. Positive changes, usually an increase for a metric, are denoted with a symbol and the percent change in black. Negative changes, usually a decrease for a metric, are denoted with a symbol and the percent change in red.
Note: For bounce rate, a decrease is shown in black and an increase in red.
  • The trend view graph displays a gray line that represents the data from the comparison date range.
  • The comparison date range is displayed next to the current date range.

When you use one of the date range shortcuts for your current date range, the comparison date range ends on the date your current range begins and goes back the same amount of time. For example, if you are using the 28-day shortcut for July 1 to July 28, the comparison date range is June 2 to June 30, the 28 days immediately before the current 28 days.
