Import Data from Webtrends Segments

Visitor data collected in Webtrends Segments can be imported into Optimize for use in segmentation.

  1. From the navigation menu, click Library.
  2. Select the Segments tab and then click Import.
  3. Select a segment item from the list to begin the import definition process. The data import is based on the audience identified in the selected segment. Additional segments can be added to the list for import via the Webtrends Segments interface.
  4. Enter a Request Name for the data extract request, this name will be used to automatically title the imported data table and segment. This is a required field.
  5. Determine the Import schedule: Example: Set the Data window to "Last 7 days" and the Data refresh frequency to "Daily" to set up a rolling 7 day data import; Optimize will import the last 7 days' worth of data from Webtrends Segments on a daily schedule.
    1. Select the Data window for the import. This determines the period of time for which data will be imported.
    2. Select the Data refresh frequency This determines how often the data window is updated with new data.
  6. (optional) Include additional data in the data import. By default, each import includes the Basic data set; a list of Raw Visitor IDs collected by Webtrends Segments.
    1. Select the Include additional data check box. Optimize will load all available Webtrends Segments business objects.
    2. Select one Business Object from the drop-down list. Only one additional business object can be included in the import.
    3. Select as many Data fields from the selected business object as needed. These additional fields will be available for use in Optimize segmentation following data import.
  7. Click Finish. Optimize will then schedule the data import with Webtrends Segments and auto-generates data table and segment objects in the Library tab of the console. Imported data is stored in the data table for use in segmentation, including any additional data fields from a business object. The auto-generated segment compares the Visitor Unique ID (UID) value to the list of Raw Visitor IDs imported from Webtrends Segments, this allows visitors from the list to be easily targeted for Optimize testing.
