Use the status of a test and its display options to determine when and how a test page appears to visitors.
|Value||Description||Page Display Options|
|Pending||Test is waiting to be implemented; it is not available to site visitors. You can edit tests in a pending state.||Default Content to new visitors only|
|Staging||Test is available for validating in a browser without affecting normal
traffic; it is not available to site visitors.
To view a test in a staging state, add the query string _wt.mode=staging to the test page URL. For example, http://www.example.com/page.htm?_wt.mode=staging
|Active||Test is available to normal site traffic. Optimize begins tracking pages and rotating the factors it displays to visitors.||Experiments to all visitors|
|Complete||Test has completed testing, but is still active within Optimize. This state is typically used during final reporting and analysis. Data collection still occurs.||
|Archive||Test is complete and tracking is disabled. The test is no longer available to visitors. The browser renders the page using its original HTML markup.||Disabled|
|Default Content to new visitors only||On the first visit to the test page, the visitor sees the default content and a cookie is set to display the same content on successive visits.|
|Default Content to all visitors||On any visit to the test page, the visitor sees the default content.|
|Experiments to all visitors||On a visit to the test page, the visitor sees content for normal test behavior. This is the same behavior for an Active test.|
|Specific experiment to all visitors||On a visit to the test page, all visitors see the display that you selected from a list of available experiments.|
