Webtrends Analytics 9 Adminstration Guide, November 2012
Use Visitor History to report on your visitors based on the characteristics of their visits such as how much have they purchased on your site, how long has it been since they purchased, or how many days it has been since they visited your site.
Because enabling Visitor History collects data about your visitors over time, you can use this data to learn more about your visitor behavior. Visitor History requires that visitors be strongly identified using a session tracking method other than IP address and user agent.
Select this check box then select the categories to be tracked.
Select this check box to export this profile's visitor history database to a CSV file. You can use the CSV file to integrate visitor history with your proprietary customer data using a business tool like Microsoft Excel.
Specify how often you want to export this profile’s visitor history database. Webtrends exports the data at the end of the analysis cycle that you select.
Specify the visitor data that you want to show in your reports. Each of these settings corresponds to a set of custom reports that are included with Webtrends.

Stores data about your visitors purchases such as lifetime value, last sale recency, and number of days to purchase.
Stores the most recent value of a query parameter for inclusion in your reports.
Stores data about the content groups visited by each visitor. You should only select this option if you plan to use the Content Groups of Interest report or the Content of Interest Visitor measures.
Stores data about the pages of interest visited by each visitor. You should only select this option if you plan to use the Pages of Interest report or the Page of Interest Visitor measures.
Select this check box to limit the amount of Visitor History data that is stored, then specify how to identify the visitors that should be deleted from the database. Trimming visitor history permanently removes the visitors who interest you least from the database. Use these settings to prevent the visitor history database from growing too large or to free more disk space.
Type the number of visitors to store before any visitors are removed from the database. Type a number between 10-5000 to represent values between 10,000-5,000,0000.
Type the maximum number of visitors that you want to store in the visitor history database.
Use these settings to control the visitor history data that is removed once the minimum number you specified is reached. You can view how effectively your criteria keeps the database within the limits you have defined through the Profile Monitor status panel.
If the size of visitor history database exceeds the limit you have defined even after your primary trimming criteria is used, visitors are removed based on the amount of time since the most recent visit until the database is reduced to the size specified.
In the left pane, click.
Add or edit a profile.
To collect visitor history data, select the Enable Visitor History check box and then select the characteristics that interest you in the Behavior Categories check box.
To specify the visitors who should be discarded, select the Enable Visitor History Trimming check box and the criteria that identifies the visitors to delete.
